WANDERER BAG

It’s summer again. The season of cheap beer, questionable decisions and disappearing somewhere far enough that nobody can reach you for a couple days. As Finns, we live for that first real warm wind after another long grey stretch. The annual reminder that life might not be entirely hopeless after all.

We’ve got some news. New gear.

Last autumn we rang up our old mate Niklas from Purye. Felt long overdue. Over six years ago both of us were just kids playing entrepreneur with piles of old rags and too many ideas. Back then we ended up talking shit deep into some late summer afterparty and decided we should probably make something together. The result was our very first collaboration, two bags made from old sails and vintage denim. Raw stuff. Slightly naive maybe. But honest.

A lot’s happened since then.

Pandemic. Wars. Endless doomscrolling. AI slop. Drones buzzing overhead. The whole world increasingly feeling like some strange collapsing shopping mall with WiFi.

And somehow both us and Purye are still here. Still doing the same thing in more or less the same way. Seven years deep now. Which feels both impressive and deeply concerning.

Truth is, we’ve never really cared much about “business.” Never knew how to anyway. This whole thing has always been about people. Making stuff with your mates. Having a laugh. Building things that feel real in a world becoming increasingly artificial by the minute.

Because honestly, what else is there?

Nobody knows what tomorrow looks like. Might as well make something good with your mates while you still can.

For years we kept talking with the Purye lads about doing a second round. Every party, every accidental run-in, every late-night conversation eventually circled back to it. “Yeah, we should do it again.” Then life happened. Work happened. Time disappeared.

Until last November.

I called Niklas directly and asked him straight up: "Maybe now’s the time."

Now we’re both creeping toward thirty and somehow still operating on the exact same principles we started with. Still chasing better things. Still trying to make things that feel exciting to us and hopefully to somebody else too.

The funny part is the origin story hasn’t really changed. Same mentality. Same ingredients. Just slightly older, slightly better at what we do and marginally less stupid than before.

If we’ve ever worked with anyone, it’s always started with people first. Actual people. Friends. No corporate synergy meetings. No strategy decks. No “brand alignment.” Just making things with people we genuinely like. People can call our mates.

That’s the whole point.

This new thing of ours is a pretty good example of that philosophy in practice. Made here in Finland by people we know personally. Proper stuff made by real hands, not anonymous factories on the other side of the planet.

And no, this isn’t about sustainability or trend forecasting or whatever buzzword currently floating around socials this week.

It’s just a bag.

A pretty good one though.

Made by Purye. Designed by us. Carries your stuff. Comes with a custom bottle opener so you can crack a few cold ones with your mates somewhere under the midnight sun.

Which, when you really think about it, is probably what life’s about anyway.

People first. Everything else second.

New carriers now online and in-store.

Cheers,

-Santeri, BSM
